The Project
This restoration of a Grade II listed building, in London’s West End, is part of the Langham Estates restoration programme and brings contemporary need with heritage consideration together seamlessly.
With a focus on maintaining the buildings original 1910 Neo-Greek aesthetic, created by architects W and E Hunt, a team of specialist suppliers and craftspeople were onboarded to ensure expert care and respectful attention was given to every detail.
The architects felt that the project would benefit from our additional expertise to sensitively bring together this beautifully detailed existing heritage ironmongery, with their vision to maintain the building’s original aesthetic, while incorporating modern sustainability features.
At the point we joined the project, the most critical job was to sort, catalogue, group and prepare all of the legacy window fixings and door furniture that had already been removed prior to construction.
This also included re-allocating each piece to the correct window or door to ensure continuity of their life in the position they were meant to be in.
Our team carefully re-organised, refurbished and repatriated each element to its original location within the building ensuring everything was in its rightful place with a renewed future.
