The Project
To restore all legacy window fixings and re-allocate each piece to the correct window ensuring continuity of their life in the position they were meant to be in.

Before we could start restoring we had to sort, catalogue, and group all of the legacy window fixings that had already been removed prior to construction.
It wasn’t until all components had been re-grouped and matched with the correct window that we were able to see where elements were missing and how much restoration was required.

At some point in their history some of the fittings had been painted white. The first step in restoration was to remove the paint and reveal the original solid brass and steel underneath.
A sample was then cleaned and polished to show how the fixings would look once restored.

Each window set was then re-built, missing elements were replaced and uniform fixing hardware were provided to complete each window.
