BAFTA’s ambitious brief was to restore and re-work their 195 Piccadilly home, to create a centre for excellence for the motion picture arts.
The project vision and scope, designed by Benedetti Architects, was to enhance every aspect of what BAFTA stands for and sets to achieve, whilst being sensitive to the character of the Grade II listed building.
  • The Brief

To create a discretely distinctive specification that supports the bringing together of BAFTA’s heritage home with it’s state of the art vision for the future.

  • Our focus was on ease of access for building users, making their journey through the building frictionless, so as not to distract from their experience of BAFTA.

  • Throughout the project, the term ‘Baftaness’ evolved, with all project contributors seeking to deliver every essense of BAFTA at every detail.

It was important to play our part in making BAFTA’s home as special as its brand, to help ensure that collectively we created the perfect setting to generate extra revenue and longevity for the charity.

  • The project programme was designed to be as reducing of unnecessary workflow as possible, for budget time and H&S perspectives.

Working with the contractors on-site team we ensured that our specification was easy to administer.

Bespoke Design

We developed bespoke signage panels and hardware, for key touch-points, enabling users to feel the BAFTA magic as they experienced the events, exhibitions, screenings and meetings.

Our wall mounted panels, helped showcase the solid commitment of supporters and sponsors. We recommended our beautiful antique brass finish, as we felt it fitted perfectly with the Art Deco inspired interior finishes and detailing.

The styling of the architecture is luxuriously refined, an aesthetic we matched when making recommendations from our core ranges.

We continued the BAFTA aesthetic, with statement semi-circular pad handles with a confidently simple oversize hammered effect.
